Description DGA Security Systems is currently seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team. As a technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, NYC Fire Code, and local jurisdictional requirements. Your work will involve setting up and diagnosing issues with fire alarm control panels, batteries, Data Gathering Panels (DGPs), notification appliances, initiating devices, and remote annunciators to ensure proper functionality and code compliance. Role Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and test Fire Alarm Systems and devices. Ensure all devices and systems follow NFPA standards and local codes. Accurately complete inspection reports and service documentation. Communicate with customers regarding service issues and resolutions. Demonstrate safe use of ladders, lifts, and hand/power tools. Know how to install electrical conduit as per the NEC and NYC requirements Opportunity to advance within the company through clearly defined career paths and regular performance reviews. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school certification preferred. 3-5 years of relevant electrical/fire alarm experience. Experience with Auxiliary Radio Communication Systems (ARCS) a plus Familiarity with Edwards (EST) products a plus. Understanding of basic electronics and electrical principles (Ohm's Law, AC/DC). Ability to read blueprints and interpret electrical schematics. Good verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. SST 40-hour NYC Site Safety Training. S-98 Certificate of Fitness. NICET Level I or II certification preferred; willingness to obtain if not already held.
